I remember about 12 years ago, I needed a new assistant and Kristin answered the "call" for the position. She already had excellent understanding of the dog-show world, with extensive involvement and success showing her own Dogue de Bordeaux (French Mastiffs). At our first meeting, I described my dream to have not just an assistant, but a partner that could equally share in the management of the canine reproduction service at BRVC. Fast-forward all these years later, and that is exactly what we share: total dedication to our wonderful clients and their dogs, both for our reproduction program and also for any other medical needs that arise. Kristin has become an essential partner in this endeavor participating in client communication, assistance in all reproductive procedures, management of our canine frozen semen program, aiding new clients to understand our recommendations and managing our crazy busy days! When she is gone for a well-deserved vacation, I am lost. When I go on vacation, however, she steps-up and is able to run the service, including the performance of certain key time-sensitive procedures. Kristin has also developed essential training modules for BRVC staff regarding our reproductive services. On top of all of these duties, Kristin also works as a phone-receptionist in the mornings and has become a key representative for all that BRVC has to offer to all clients. It is indeed a pleasure to see that BRVC has honored Kristin Unger as team-member of the month as she is clearly my hero every day!
