Richard Romero ("Chico"), December Employee of the Month

He has been part of the BRVC family for 9 years, so we are extremely excited to announce Richard Romero as our December Employee of the Month.

Richard is better known as Chico by his family, friends, and co-workers.  Chico is one of our most reliable, friendly, and hardworking team members.  He was originally brought onto the team to assist the technicians by keeping surgery and treatment areas clean and stocked.  He was such a hard and willing worker who caught on incredibly quickly.  Staff took notice and asked for his assistance with just about anything and everything.  He quickly became one of the best technician's assistants BRVC has ever had.  His quick wit, attention to detail, and dependability made him a valuable asset to the treatment team.  These amazing qualities helped him develop into an extremely successful, well-rounded technician.  For this, he is truly admired by his peers.  There have been countless times when we hear new staff members say they want to be a Technician like Chico.  And Chico is just as popular with his long-time co-workers.  They enjoy working with him because of his ability to make any working environment fun and productive.  "The best part of my job is to be able to work in multiple departments to help provide quality care to our patients ...".

Chico now tends to our most critical patients as a Patient Care Technician.   He is extremely gentle and attentive to the patients and their needs, and he makes sure every patient is receiving quality care.  The Doctors have a great working relationship with Chico.  They respect and rely on his skills which is why they put a great deal of trust in his ability to care for their patients.  "I enjoy working at BRVC because I get to help the patients on their road to recovery from an illness or surgery."  Chico has truly grown into one of BRVC's top Patient Care Technicians:  Not only can we all be confident our patients are getting the quality care our patients deserve, but Chico is also generous in sharing his skills and knowledge with others which makes him an extremely valuable trainer for the team.

Born and raised in Oakland California, it is inevitable that Chico would be a Raiders fan!  Aside from watching football, he enjoys travelling to new places.  He lives with his 3 dogs Marley (a special needs pet), Sasha, and Beau.  

We are so proud of Chico and how much he has grown at BRVC.  He truly is an outstanding example of the type of employee you want on your team.  Congratulations Chico!  This is much deserved.  Thank you for all your years of hard work and dedication!
